DUPONT CIRCLE -- It might have actually been the store itself 'who wore it best' on Tuesday night, as
Brooks Brothers formally feted the reopening of its prized Connecticut Ave. outpost.
Indeed, despite the dozens of dapperly-dressed guests in attendance, it was the brightly lit and gleaming interior of the Dupont Circle-adjacent store that drew the most amount of attention, including a dramatically expanded women's department.
Evening hosts
Grant and Katherine Allen, newly engaged
Fritz Brogan and
Brooke Henderson,
Derek and Melanie Coburn, and
Scott and Lydia Logan fully embraced their hospitable roles, as they warmly greeted friends throughout the store.
Attendees were treated to passed hors d'oeuvres and sparkling wine, in addition to a fully stocked cocktail bar, courtesy of
Design Cuisine catering.
And the always cheery and dashing
Ben Chang had taken a break from his day job managing communications at Washington powerhouse Albright Stonebridge Group to DJ the soiree, which boasted a soundtrack culled from his personal collection of LPs.
Beyond the opportunity to mix and mingle inside D.C.'s newest luxury retail location, Tuesday's celebration also served a philanthropic purpose, with a portion of the sales from the affair earmarked for
Dignity U Wear.
The Florida-based charity strives to positively impact the lives of children and their families in need by providing them with articles of brand new clothing. And foundation Executive Director
Barbara Truncellito and VP of Development
Nan Coyle happily were in attendance to answer questions from guests about the nonprofit.
Dignity U Wear has donated more than 8 million pieces of new clothing, valued at over $140 million, since it was founded. A more than
suitable partner for the country's oldest clothing retailer...
