The all-star lineup for the 2014 Metro Cooking DC show was revealed to members of the press, during a reception at Toro Toro on Monday evening.
NORTHWEST -- The District's foodies will be treated to an unprecedented all-star lineup of culinary talent on November 8th and 9th, as the annual
Metro Cooking DC show returns to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
Celebrity chefs
Guy Fieri and
Bobby Flay will both headline this year's two-day event, which will bring together more than 18,000 consumers from around the world to shop, dine, and drink.
Beyond the famous big names, attendees will also have access to a special Beard Foundation Stage, where a rotating series of James Beard Foundation winners, nominees or guest chefs will each be providing cooking demonstrations.
And this all, of course, comes in addition to a non-stop series of activities, including ongoing tasting and entertaining workshops (think kitchen knife techniques and holiday entertaining tips) and presentations from more than 300 specialty food exhibitors, who all will be showcasing products available for purchase.
D.C. proper will even have the chance to put its best foodie foot forward thanks to a new partnership with the
Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington that will see more than 40 area restaurants provide ticketholders with signature samples in a dedicated 'Grand Tasting Pavilion'.
The final program for this year's show was revealed to members of the press on Monday, during an intimate reception hosted by Chef
Richard Sandoval's
Toro Toro restaurant (Sandoval too will be at the show).
Tickets to Metro Cooking DC are only $20, with access to celebrity theater performances, cooking classes, and the Grand Tasting Pavilion sold separately. The heartiest of fans can even upgrade to VIP status, which will allow them to mix and mingle with both Flay and Fieri during private meet-and-greet receptions.
