DUPONT CIRCLE -- The U.S.-Russia relationship might be undergoing some turbulence currently, but it was all smiles from citizens of both countries on Tuesday night, as
Mari Vanna feted its second D.C. anniversary.
The Russian eatery, which promises patrons an experience full of 'love, fun and food', has proved popular among both
celebrities and commoners alike since it first opened its doors in January 2013.
VIP guests to yesterday's party began the evening with a house-infused, open vodka bar in Mari Vanna's third floor cocktail lounge. The libations nicely complimented the accompanying buffet spread, which consisted of plenty of homemade Russian delicacies.
The celebration then spilled-over to the restaurant's lower levels, where everyone was treated to a complimentary shot of vodka or glass of champagne, while enjoying a live performance by internationally recognized accordionist
Peter Dranga.
