DUPONT CIRCLE -- No matter how guests asked for their meat to be prepared,
STK Washington, D.C.'s celebration of its milestone one year anniversary was a decidedly
well done affair.
From the specially adorned booths and tables teaming with people (there was a waiting list past 10:00p.m.) to the charming models cheerfully passing out candy, last week's party was a night that Washingtonians won't soon forget.
Naturally, the food and beverage menu dominated the spotlight for the hundreds of guests who streamed through the seductively lit Dupont Circle space.
Platters of STK's signature plates, such as wagyu sliders, tuna tartar, and truffle butter-topped petit filets, were a never-ending parade from the kitchen.
And the restaurant's fleet-footed bartenders seamed to boast more arms than humanly possible, as they mixed, shook, stirred, and poured cocktails boasting colors from nearly every shade of the rainbow.
As a sincere (and tasty) thank you to its many loyal patrons, STK gifted each group with a complimentary bottle of bubbles last Thursday evening in addition to a gratis dessert.
The party began at the door, however, with a model greeting everyone over 21 with a champagne toast on the house.
Between sips and sups, everyone was free to take advantage of styling touch-ups in the restaurant's private dining room courtesy of
PURE/AVEDA Salon & Spa and a chance to snap a 'Prohibition mugshot' in a special interactive GIF booth.
A year after it
first opened its doors, STK remains one of the District's most famous steakhouses, drawing a steady influx of celebrities and locals alike.
Just later this week, the restaurant will play host for a second time to a delegation from
The Creative Coalition, which is expected to include
House of Cards star
Constance Zimmer,
Madam Secretary's
Tim Daly, and GRAMMY Award-winning recording artist
Rob Thomas, among others.
It looks like there just might finally be an answer to the ubiquitous question of "Where's the beef?"
