Future of America Gala Host David Pattinson and Miss District of Columbia 2015 Haely Jardas.
NORTHWEST -- With the continued goal of 'putting American youth back to work', the Future of America gala returned to the District for a third year on Friday night, with the event drawing over a hundred guests to the Carnegie Institution for Science.
Hosted by
David Pattinson, the cocktail chic affair was held in support of the
organization that he founded, which "highlights initiatives and solutions that promote greater economic opportunity and involvement for a lost generation of American youth, while simultaneously helping to reduce the 'Skills Gap' that exists between employer needs and young employee capabilities."
And by enlisting a host committee some two dozen strong of the city's young professionals, the night handily drew a enthusiastic crowd of mainly twenty and thirty-somethings. Ticketholders were treated to bites and beverages courtesy of RX Catering, as well as both live band and DJ music options from
The Scarlet Band and
DJ Esso, respectively.
The gala's stated mission each year is to "solve the Great Youth Depression by creating a career planning system, where educational qualifications directly result in financially independent young professionals."
"We The Future", indeed.
