GEORGETOWN -- Elegant shades of black and white contrasted nicely with colorful splashes of holiday decor on Wednesday evening, as
Capitol File Magazine celebrated its 10th anniversary on the Georgetown waterfront.

Security was tight as guests entered the stunning ode to contemporary Scandinavian architecture known as the
House of Sweden, with iPad-wielding staffers quickly checking-in new arrivals and ushering them into the party inside.

The night's 'Black & White' theme was inspired by some of the District's most iconic photographs, which, despite lacking the colors of the modern era, have endured the test of time and remain firmly lodged in the local zeitgeist.

Such timelessness and enduring cultural appeal, especially among the city's movers-and-shakers, are two of the glossy's qualities which have allowed
Capitol File to thrive over the past 10 years.

The premiere issue, which debuted in the Fall of 2005, featured
Ashley Judd on the cover and boasted an interview with former Secretary of State
Madeleine Albright.

Guests to this week's celebration were treated to a winter wonderland of activities, with everyone from Microsoft to Audi signing-on as sponsors.

The
Entertainment Software Association had setup a series of video game stations on the building's lower level, which also featured a live performance by pianist
Adam Narimatsu and a whiskey bar stocked by Beam Suntory.

Throughout the event, everyone was encouraged to indulge in passed bites courtesy of RSVP Catering and Dolci Gelati -- all the while engaging with mentalist
Max Major who kept the crowd guessing with his sleights of hand/mind.

It was truly a magical occasion.
