NORTHWEST -- The rooftop deck of the Liaison Capitol Hill hotel was packed Tuesday night for the second annual "Walk This Way" charity fashion show benefiting Becky's Fund.

Founded in November 2006 by Becky Lee, Becky's Fund is a D.C.-based non-profit focused on the prevention of domestic violence. Becky used the prize money she won as a contestant on the acclaimed CBS prime-time television show Survivor: Cook Islands to start the organization.

Professional athletes, TV and radio personalities, politicians, philanthropists. They were all there last night. Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis, accompanied by his mother, led the charge as one of the evening's co-hosts for the second year in a row. He was joined by teammates from the Redskins, as well as by fellow professional athletes from the Washington Wizards and D.C. United (Ben Olsen).

Using green whistles (often called "rape whistles") as their tickets, guests began the evening sipping complimentary cocktails and enjoying passed hors d'oeuvres on top of one of D.C.'s largest rooftop pool decks. Sponsors vitaminwater and Pop Chips also mingled among the crowd distributing beverages and snacks. In a nod to the fashion-forward nature of the event, most supporters were dressed to the nines in gorgeous cocktail dresses and pressed suits.

Silent auction tables had been set up around the entrance to the roof to help raise funds in the fight against domestic violence. Attendees were free to bid on a variety of tempting listings, including tickets to the Late Show with David Letterman, airline tickets on OpenSkies, pieces of designer jewelry by Melissa Lew, and a variety of autographed sports memorabilia.

Grammy-winning singer Patti Austin kicked-off the entertainment portion of the evening with a stirring performance of the National Anthem. Alternative rock band Modern Thieves then took the stage for a multi-song set, including several with celebrated jazz pianist Marcus Johnson (a Nirvana cover was particularly well received!).

Naturally, the feature attraction for the night was the fashion show itself. Wearing one-of-a-kind outfits designed by Eric Finn Custom Clothiers, more than a dozen models walked a pool-top runway (specially constructed to support the weight of some of the bigger athletes), including Clinton Portis, Congressional Communications Director Lindsey Mask, Betsey Johnson stylist Simoné Kristy-Lee, and Steuart Martens, reality star of NBC's The Apprentice.

Labels for Love Founder and TV Star of Bravo's The Real Housewives of DC Mary Amons was also on the red carpet last night. A member of Becky's Fund's Honorary Committee, Mary was joined on-stage by castmate and Evolution Look founder Paul Wharton towards the end of the evening for an impromptu live auction that quickly raised more than $5,000 for Becky's Fund.

Demonstrating their support for the campaign against domestic violence, D.C. Councilmember Harry Thomas and Councilmember Yvette Alexander were also seated poolside, as was WUSA9 TV anchor Angie Goff and WPGC 99.5 radio personality Guy Lambert.

A magical evening for sure... Alas, "Walk This Way" comes but once a year. To help Becky and her supporters continue their year-round fight against domestic violence, please visit the Becky's Fund website.
