GEORGETOWN -- In honor of
National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the good folks at
Urban Chic's
Georgetown location held their annual "Pink Is The New Black" shopping event on Thursday night.
Now in its fifth year, the celebration took a decidedly Hollywood twist last night with two members of
The Real Housewives of DC serving as the event's co-hosts.
Indeed, wearing earth tones appropriate to the brisk fall weather found outside, TV stars
Mary Amons and
Cat Ommanney graciously spent the evening talking with customers about the show, offering styling tips, and toasting the occasional joke that would pop-up.
They were joined by fans and shoppers alike, Urban Chic owner
Lindsay Buscher, and
Shahab and Micky Farivar. Shahab, of course, is co-owner of Georgetown's often buzzed-about
Peacock Cafe -- which also generously catered the party with a sumptuous spread of wraps, salads, and dips.
While most in attendance were surely enticed by the 10% discount off of new looks being offered that night, the fact that 5% of the evening's proceeds were to be donated to
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is what really brought smiles to their faces.
And ours...
