NORTHWEST -- Since D.C.-based Venga first made its debut on the local technology scene back in April, it has scored numerous accolades and made plenty of headlines.

(L-R) Venga CEO Sam von Pollaro, Cities’ Seyhan Duru & Venga President Winston Lord.

But ultimately, the success of the startup will hinge on the loyalty of its end users; those foodies who turn to Venga’s mobile application daily in order to stay up to speed on the special offers, events, and music made available to them, sometimes exclusively, at area restaurants, bars, and nightlife venues.

And Wednesday night, the Venga team invited a few hundred of its friends and fans to an intentionally non-exclusive summer launch party at Cities Restaurant & Lounge, as a small gesture of thanks for their support.

After slipping past the venue’s gorgeous warm weather patio area, guests were escorted inside to Cities’ sleekly backlit bar area. There, while nibbling on platters of passed hors d’oeuvres and sipping on complimentary bottles of Heineken and signature Belvedere cocktails, they were free to mingle with their hosts, as well as many of Venga’s content partners and investors.

As if free food and drink weren’t enough, Venga also conducted a special raffle towards the end of the night, with Girl Meets Food writer Mary Kong walking home with four front row tickets to an upcoming Washington Nationals game.

For those of you in attendance wondering how you can thank the thankful for hosting such a fun soiree, simply direct your friends to www.govenga.com. We did!
