CLARENDON, Va. -- A little rain couldn’t stop the crowd as football fanatics poured into Mad Rose Tavern. Saturday marked the official draft party of the 8th annual Blondes vs. Brunettes charity football event benefitting the National Capital Alzheimer’s Association.


After weeks of fundraising and competing for a spot to represent the Betty’s and Veronica’s of DC, players, coaches, family and friends gathered to support the announcement of the official squads, captains and top fundraisers to date for each team.


The annual powder puff event raised over $120,000 last year and is on track to exceed that total for this year. In addition to the game itself, both teams are set to put on several fun and exciting fundraisers in the capital over the course of the next several weeks leading up to game day.


With smiles and hugs all around both teams enjoyed meeting the new talent and sizing up the competition for game day.
