The Guest List:
GEORGETOWN -- The 75th running of the world famous International Gold Cup steeplechase race comes to The Plains, Virginia on Saturday, with ticket sales benefiting the region’s preservation-minded Great Meadow Foundation.

Always both a festive and dapper social affair, the fall Gold Cup races is expected to draw thousands tomorrow, including many Washington notables.

And a handful of Georgetown’s more prominent residents who will be in attendance at the race seized the opportunity to celebrate the biannual event on Thursday night, with a casually chic-themed autumnal soiree inside the home of well liked man-about-town Christopher ‘Chip’ Dent.

Co-hosted by Michael Saylor, Bill Dean, Steve Andronico, Ray Regan, and Michael Brody, the exclusive bash saw a guest list numbering in the hundreds stream in and out of the well-appointed four-story row house throughout the evening.

Event planning and security firm Thiero & Associates was charged with keeping a mindful eye on the front door, as numerous party crashers attempted to enter the private celebration which boasted a flowing Veuve Clicquot champagne bar.

While conversation and congeniality might have been the primary draw of the event thanks to the group of notable Washingtonians that the hosts count as friends, the stunning view of the Washington skyline from Dent’s roof arguably came in at a close second.

Off to the races indeed.
