GEORGETOWN -- Beach ball chic was paired with black tie flair on September 8th, during the 13th annual
GO BO Party.
By now, the post Labor Day benefit is practically a Georgetown tradition, with the
Johns Family opening-up the doors to their sprawling 29th Street property each year for the occasion.
The fundraiser was inspired by
Bo Johns' successful battle against cancer, with proceeds earmarked for the Emergency Family Relief Fund at nearby
Georgetown Hospital, where the then sixth grader was forced to stay for 87 days when receiving treatment.
Each year, the party boasts a different, playfully cheeky theme and 2017 was no different. Guests were encouraged to don their finest "island couture" for the night, which combined a buffet dinner with flowing cocktails and a live funk band.
And no one left empty-handed, with all supporters gifted their very own tote bag courtesy of
SCOUT (a chic accessories line co-founded by Bo's parents,
Deb and Ben Johns). It was a (very extended) family celebration, after all!
